ALEXANDRE FERRA DESIGN

My name is Alexandre and I’m a French concept designer.
Passionated by Science Fiction since my childhood, I developed since there my fascination for futuristic and technologic designs, the encounter of innovation, functionality and visionnary shapes and ideas. I am using my belief to create futuristic vehicles, products and technologies for VFX, advertising, game and design industries.
My last project ” Hexodeus ” is precisely giving life to those ideas.

The encounter of the classical and fictional design world united by an singular identity.
Through traditional influences with strong shapes and identities like aerospace, transportation, product design, industrial design, engineering, history, mythology, styling, luxury and brand identity I am blending them to fantasy and fictional worlds influences born from popular culture as, sci-fi stories, movies and other medias like video games, Japanese mecha and futuristic culture with high creative and anticipation potential.
Science and fiction, luxury and popular, engineering and art, myths and marketing, the association of opposite words for providing coherent and strong conceptual designs to all those worlds and beyond.

I started my career in the advertisement industry in Paris on game trailers where I had the opportunity to learn the team work by the side of talented artists. In 2013, I worked on my first E3 trailer for Ubisoft, following that I had the opportuniy to work on several trailers for AAA games license in studios like Unit Image and Blur Studio.
This five year experience allowed me to understand the needs of the VFX industry and its structure meanwhile I was working on my spare time on personals projects dedicated to futuristic and innovative designs.

To offer the best services and performances, I work on 3D models and visualization allowing a global vision of the designs and offering a better platform to work on the functionality. Those datas can be used on the major parts of the softwares for further use in production. My experience in the VFX and advertisement industry allow me to start from the early idea of the concept with quick design variation and overpaint for experimentation to a final delivery for production, ready to be rigged, or 3D printed depending of the client needs.

BEHIND HEXODEUS

In 2013, I wanted to start a new project, to define my own universe and personality, a personal introduction to the world of concept design. It has to be focused on science & future technologies, but I wanted to add more to it, a synthesis of all my influences and experiences, a large series of concepts with a different way to approach and to show them.

I have always been fascinated by concepts and movement with strong ideologies and meaning, starting by the ancient myths still alive in our modern world. But they are not the only ones, luxury brands are carrying a similar message with their strong identities, a legacy of our myth culture. Behind the stories and the legends their is always a truth, someone, or something, a hero. A product or vehicule is not an exception to this rule, they are all impregnated by a message, a story, a will.
While the storyteller of the past where bards, writers or poets, today communication agencies and marketing are now part of them.
I wanted to work on this evolution and how all those worlds are blending together and keeping the background of the myths, the origins.

This is how I came to Hexodeus, a luxury technologies and aerospace brand, with strong humanist values.
An hybride between brands like Space X, Tesla, Apple or Porsche and a tribute to creative and science people.
An encounter between the science, the fiction and the luxury world.
A paradoxe between going beyond the Human limits and the seek of the Human essence.

This name brand is born from « Hex », meaning six, Hexo is also referring to « exo », « out of » in ancient Greek and
« Deus » the latin word for God also meaning Zeus in ancient Greek. Hex as the six main axis of this project:

I. MYTHOLOGY AS A REFERENCE
II. FROM LUXURY TO POP CULTURE
III. BETWEEN CONCEPT DESIGN, PRODUCT DESIGN & ENGINEERING
IV. STORYTELLING THROUGH MARKETING
V. THE TRANSINDUSTRY & TRANSMEDIA ERA
VI. TRIBUTE TO CREATIVE & SCIENCE PEOPLE
