Inspiration

TRIBUTE TO HAJIME SORAYAMA & SYD MEAD

Horus Reality Helmet is born from the encounter of two artist universes.
The first is Japan illustrator Hajime Sorayama, well known for its hyper realistic pin-ups, between science fiction and bondage. But he is also a talented robots and androids drawer, giving them sensual (almost sexual) and feminine shapes. I was especially attracted by a woman robot wearing an helmet, starting only at the upper lips.

The second is the visionary designer Syd Mead. There are hundreds of ideas in each of its illustrations, not only graphical but also technological, or cultural (habits, way of livings, etc.). On many of its illustrations, we can see people wearing large minimalist helmets. He is for me one of those few artists able to create a real living universe.
The concept of an augmented reality helmet, conceived as a fashion accessory, was really a tempting idea & the perfect excuse to create an exceptional product for a niche market.
Already reproduced & popularized by Daft Punk, I wanted to create something more refined, with a real purpose for daily life.
